The present invention concerns a process for preparing by means of Mannich reaction amino acid derivatives and dipeptides which comprise a protective group on the nitrogen atom of the peptide bond or on the nitrogen atom which is to form the peptide bond. These compounds can be used in particular in the solid phase syntheses of peptides, glycopeptides, peptide-nucleotide conjugates and proteins.
