The removing method of a mercury comprises (a) filtering a waste mercury mixed with a solid material and an oil used in the porosimeter by the filter, (b) passing the filtered residual oil and the waste mercury through the vertical separating column to separate the mercury and the oil, (c) layer separating the separated mercury and the oil from the polar solvent-contg. layer by the their density differences, and (d) separating the low density oil from the upper layer of the solvent, and the high density mercury from the lower layer of the solvent. The polar solvent is acetone, alcohol, ether, chloroform or ethyl acetate.
