<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing the time required for adjustment processing relevant to image formation. <P>SOLUTION: When color-shift correcting process is started, a row of toner mark patterns is formed on a transfer conveyance belt. At each set of toner mark patterns, the toner marks are detected by a sensor while the transfer conveyance belt is running to measure the time from a reference time to each of the toner marks. The distance between the toner marks is calculated based on the measurement result, and the color shift amount in a main scanning direction and a secondary scanning direction is detected based on the distance. The color shift is corrected by controlling the optical writing on a photoreceptor drum based on the detected color shift amount. Distances from a reference point to each set in the toner mark pattern row are calculated using the time measurement result from the reference time to each toner mark to calculate a difference from the obtained distance. The arrival timing of a sheet of transfer paper with respect to an image transfer position on the transfer conveyance belt is controlled based on the calculation result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
