A compsn. for achieving cohesive bonding between an organic polymer and an organosiloxane material during curing of the organosiloxane material by a reaction selected from: (I) hydrosilation reactions conducted in the presence of a catalyst selected from metals from the platinum gp. of the periodic table and cpds. of said metals; and (II) reactions of polyorganosiloxanes contg. at least two reactive groups selected from silanol gps. with organosilicon cpds. contg. at least 3 Si-bonded hydrolysable gps., in the presence of moisture and a suitable catalyst; comprises (A) 5-20 pts.wt. of a copolymer comprising repeating units of (a) an ethylenically unsatd. organic cpd.; and (b) a silane of formula YR1aSiX3-a where R1 = monovalent hydrocarbon radical, X = hydrolysable group, Y = ethylenically unsatd. organic gp. that is bonded to the Si atom by an alkylene radical and a = 0 or 1; (B) 0.5-2 pts.wt. of an organohydrogen-siloxane contg. an average of at least 3 Si bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule; (C) 4-10 pts.wt. of a silane where the Si atom is bonded to at least one aminoalkyl radical and the silane contains at least 2 hydrolysable gps.; and (D) an amt. of an organic liq. sufficient to solubilise A, B and C. |
