PURPOSE: To register or detect a level of contents supplied in a packaging material tube, which is formed in a packaging machine, continuously supplied with the contents such as milk and juice, and then sealed-off transversely for formation of individual packaging containers. CONSTITUTION: In order to facilitate cleaning and sterilization, a level 19 of contents 18 is registered by a temperature detector 15 placed outside a packaging material tube 6. The temperature detector 15 is coupled through a master unit 17 with a feed device 12, which controls an amount of supplied contents in response to a signal from the temperature detector 15.
