PURPOSE:To stabilize differential limit characteristics by increasing the strength of a differential case, surely supporting a pinion gear and sufficiently lubricating each gear. CONSTITUTION:A differential gear comprises a casing body 31 having a side wall section and an end cover 33 fixed. It is provided with a differential case 21 which is rotatedly driven by an engine, pinion gears 77 and 79, on which second gear sections 83 and 89 are meshed with each other outside the axial direction of wheel side gears 53 and 56 and first gear sections 81 and 87 are meshed with gears 53 and 55 respectively, containing holes 73 and 75, which are formed in the casing body 31 and slidably containing gears 77 and 79 and support the whole of the peripheries of the gear sections 83 and 89 except their meshing sections, and a plate member 35, which is fixed to the casing body 31 through screw member 51 and capable of bearing the thrust force of the gears 77 and 79.
