The fluid, supplied under pressure, emerges from a nozzle (2) as a jet (3), which is separated into defined slugs (3'). These continue, essentially in the extended path of the jet, to enter a hardening environment. So that they shall have time to become approximately spherical, there is a suitable clearance between separation, and the hardening environment. There may also be a transverse fluid jet (17), suitable to encapsulate the slugs (3'); through which they fall. This jet (17) has a flat configuration. The appts. to carry out the process is also claimed.
