The present invention relates to a balance weight mounting apparatus for a tire wheel 14 by which a balance weight 16 can be automatically mounted on the tire wheel 14. A six-axes manipulator 28 has a weight holder 32 and hammer head 34 provided at the distal end of the arm 26 thereof. The weight holder 32 and the hammer head 34 can be moved by the operation of the manipulator 28 to the location to which a balance weight 16 is fed by a parts feeder 24 and also can be moved within the plane perpendicular to the circumferential direction of a tire wheel 14 supported by a tire wheel support unit 18. The balance weight 16 of a predetermined weight fed by the parts feeder 24 is gripped by the weight holder 32, abutted against that portion of the rim 20, on which this balance weight 16 is to be mounted, of the tire wheel 14 supported by the tire wheel support unit 18, and then mounted thereon by being driven by the hammer head 34.
