Door mortice lock with spring=bolt

The actuator for the spring-bolt (2) tumbler (4) operates automatically when the door etc. is closed and forces the bolt out into its receiving socket to a point beyond the normal rest position of the spring-bolt. The release (3) provided for the spring-bolt actuator lies in the closing area of the door etc. and is thus forcibly operated in closure. Release is specifically by a slide which stands parallel and coaxial to the bolt and moves in relation to this. The actuator is designed as a tabbed part of the lock plate to project into the spring-bolt receiving socket. The bolt tumbler presents a spring loaded cross-slide mounted on the bolt itself so that in its first setting, the slide limits the outward extension of the bolt in its free bolting condition and also locks the bolt spring. In its second setting the actuating slide briefly frees the bolt outward movement and its spring so as to lock the bolt and at the same time limit its possible interaction.
