PURPOSE:To preferentially display a picture position specified by a user with its essential color when exceeding the maximum number of simultaneous color development decided by hardware in a computer system provided with a color bit map display. CONSTITUTION:When register of a new color is required when all colors presently registered in a color map 12 are used, an origin request part 15 instructs one point on the picture of the color bit map display 3 to the user by a mouse 5. A color map reformation part 16 enlarges successively a color priority area toward the outside around instructed one point, and reforms the color map 12 so that the color to be displayed essentially is registered in the color map 12 for a display dot incorporated in the color priority area. |
