Battery operated insecticide evaporator comprises: (1) a radiation plate (RP) in contact wit an insecticide (1); and (2) a battery operated heater that heats the surface of RF to 90-130 deg C to cause evapn. of (I). The heater consists of a battery connected to a thermistor having a positive temp. coefficient (an organic PTC) and comprising a mixt. of thermoplastic polyolefin resin (A) and carbon (I) is a cyclopropanecarboxylate ester pyrethroid with vapour pressure at least 10<-4> mmHg at 20 deg C.
