Liquid mixture concentration analyser e.g. for measuring amount of coolant in motor cooling system or antifreeze in heating system

The concentration analyser involves a sensor (1) which includes a measuring head, an open chamber (5) for containing the liquid to be measured, and a closed chamber (6) containing a reference liquid. A reference quartz (RQ) in the reference chamber and a measurement quartz (MQ) moistened with the liquid to be measured vibrate at a specific frequency just under the series resonance frequency. The quartz crystals are connected to two oscillators (O1 and O2) and a mixer (M), which determine the concentration of liquids via a frequency/voltage transformer (W) and an analysing display (A). The concentration is obtained from viscosity measurements which are a function of concentration.
