PURPOSE:To obtain a laminar ceramic, an oxygen sensor and their production method in which a support and a protective film can be fired simultaneously while eliminating warp or delamination. CONSTITUTION:The oxygen sensor 10 comprises a porous alumina layer 1 formed on the surface of a solid electrolyte covering an electrode 32 through simultaneous firing. The porous alumina layer 1 has a firing shrinkage percentage in a same range as the solid electrolyte 2. The porous alumina powder material has 50% particle size of 0.3-0.5mum, 70% particle size of 0.4-1.1mum, and 90% particle size of 0.8-4.0mum in the particle size distribution of weight accumulation frequency. The porous alumina powder has a specific surface area of 8.5-11.0m<2>/g measured by BET method. Preferably, the solid electrolyte 2 and the porous alumina layer 1 have the firing shrinkage percentages in the range of 16-22%. |
