POINTING DEVICE, INFORMATION INPUT DEVICE OF INFORMATION PROCESSOR, AND PORTABLE INFORMATION PROCESSING TERMINAL DEVICE

PURPOSE:To reduce the size and weight of the devices and to simplify them without providing any extra operation space by providing a pointing means which is manually operated and narrow in hand movement range with a position signal output means which generates a position signal. CONSTITUTION:Slide type pointing means are provided on the front (X direction) and flank (Y direction) of a keyboard respectively. The moving part of a slide is constituted by coupling a slide knob 101 with a slide position transmitting means 103. A slide quantity signal is detected making by a slide position signal path read means 104 read the optical signal transmitted by the slide position transmitting means 103. The detected signal is sent to an electric signal converting means which converts this signal into an electric signal. Further, a more switch 105 can be pressed by making the slide position transmitting means 103 further slidable from its slide end point in the direction. The more switch 105 outputs the ON and OFF signals of the switch and those signals are sent to an electric signal output means.
