PURPOSE:To suppress the occurrence of nonconformity during electronic parts mounting operations by discriminating the kind of a nozzle by integrating the picture taken with a camera and the height of the nozzle detected by means of a nozzle height detecting section and, when the discriminated kind of the nozzle is a wrong kind, exchanging the wrong nozzle with a proper nozzle before starting the mounting operations. CONSTITUTION:A discriminating means 53 checks picture data in a temporarily storing section 52 and discriminates a nozzle as a large nozzle when the diameter of the checked picture is large (step 2) or 1005 nozzle when the diameter is small (step 3), but holds its judgment on the nozzle whether the nozzle is a 1608 nozzle or metal electrode facedown bonding (MELF) nozzle when the diameter is intermediate (step 4). Then the section 53 checks the height data of the lower end section of a watched nozzle detected by a nozzle height detecting section C (step 5) and, when the height is nearly equal to the height H1 of the 1608 nozzle, discriminates the nozzle as the 1608 nozzle (step 6). When the height is nearly equal to the height H2 of a MELF nozzle, the section 53 discriminates the nozzle as the MELF nozzle. Therefore, the occurrence of nonconformity can be suppressed during electronic parts mounting operations, because the mounting of a wrong nozzle can be recognized before starting the mounting operations. |
