Photographic material has a base with (a) a light-sensitive layer and (b) a transparent magnetic recording layer covered by (c) a transparent abrasive layer. Layer (b) comprises a transparent polymeric binder and ferromagnetic particles (I) with a surface area of over 30 m2/g and coverage of 1 x 10-11 to 3 x 10-10 mg/mu 3; and layer (c) comprises a transparent polymeric binder and abrasive particles (II) with a median dia. of 0.2-0.4mu , specific surface area of over 5 m2/g, Mohs hardness of at least 6 and coverage of at least 5 x 10-12 mg/mu 3.
