PURPOSE:To provide thermal transfer printing paper capable of forming an image with high transfer sensitivity in a high gradation area without matting the same. CONSTITUTION:Thermal transfer printing paper is constituted by providing a dye receiving layer having a two-layered structure consisting of a lower dye receiving layer 2 and an upper dye receiving layer 3 on a base material 1. The glass transition point of the thermoplastic resin constituting the upper dye receiving layer 3 is made lower than that of the thermoplastic resin constituting the lower dye receiving layer 2.
