Palladocycles and process for their preparation

Pallada-cyclenes of formula (I) are new. In (I), R<1>-R<6> = H, 1-4 C alkyl or alkoxy, mono- or di-(1-4 C alkyl)-amino, -COO(1-4 C alkyl), -OCO(1-4 C alkyl), F, NH3 or Ph; or pairs of these gps. may form aliphatic or aromatic rings; R<7>, R<8> = 1-8 C alkyl, 3-12 C cycloalkyl or opt. substd. aryl; Y = anion of inorganic or organic acid; the following cpds. are not claimed: trans-di- mu -bromo-, -chloro- and -iodo-bi(o-(ditolylphosphino)benzyl)dipalladium (II), trans-di- mu -bromo, -chloro- and -iodo-bis-(o-(di-methylphosphino)-3,5- dimethylbenzyl)dipalladium (II), trans-di- mu -acetato-bis-(o-tert.- butyl-o-tolylphosphino)benzyl)dipalladium (II) and the corresp. di-tert.-butylphosphino cpd. Also claimed is a process for the prodn. of (I) by reacting a phosphane of formula (II) with a Pd salt, Pd complex or alkali palladate of formula PdY2 (III), PdY2L2 (IV) and M2(PdY4) (V) respectively, in the presence of a solvent. M = Na, K or Li; L = 1,5-cyclo-octadiene, acetonitrile or benzonitrile.
