The method for etching patterns on glass surface comprises (A) coating the undesired part of glass surface with printing enamel containing UV-curing agent by screen printing method, (B) forming a protection film cured by UV-irradiating; and (C) doping the surface with etching composition to obtain etched patterns. The etching composition is composed of 100 parts distilled water, 65-70 parts glycerin, 55-60 parts starch, 40-45 parts ammonium chloride, 100-110 parts acidic ammonium fluoride and 220-230 parts barium sulfate. Additionally 4-5 parts carboxymethyl cellulose is added to 100 parts etching composition.
