PURPOSE:To provide a lamp socket device that is advantageous for miniaturization and can absorb variations in lamp length and surely hold straight bulb type fluorescent lamps without the possibility of dropping them. CONSTITUTION:A cover body 25, which has a front cover 27 with openings 31 therein, a rear cover 28 for connection to the cover 27, and pin introducing grooves 32 leading to the openings 31, has sandwiching socket main bodies 52 built therein in such a way as to be movable in the direction of their thickness, each of the socket main bodies 52 being exposed to the opening 31 and having a pin passing groove 55 leading to the pin introducing groove 32. A plate spring 53 that can be deformed elastically is provided inside the cover body 25 to constantly energize the socket main bodies 52 toward the openings 31. The force of holding lamps 21 is therefore obtained by means of connecting terminals that sandwich a pair of lamp pins 21b from both sides, and the elastic deformation of the plate spring 53 is utilized to absorb variations in lamp length. |
