A phospholipase C inhibiting peptide represented by general formula (I), wherein J<1> and J<2> each represents hydrogen or they are combined together to represent a single bond; W represents hydrogen, (un)substituted alkanoyl, (un)substituted aroyl or coumaryl; X represents a single bond, -Leu- or -Ser-Leu-Val-Glu-Leu-Val-Ser-Tyr-Tyr-Glu-Lys-His-Ala- Leu- (wherein at least one amino acid residue among the first to fourteenth amino acid residues on the N-terminal side may be deleted); Y represents a single bond or -Pro-Val-; and Z represents hydroxy or amino.
