Closed continuous-flow storage reservoir for domestic hot water system

Upper and lower portions (1a, 1b) of the reservoir are sepd. by a diaphragm (50) with surface elements (51) in the form of elastic sleeves around strips of solid foam. When the hot water space (2b) under the diaphragm is empty, sensors (53, 54) short circuit polar terminals on the wall and open a magnetic valve (20) to refill from the cold water space (2a). A radial heating element (22) is controlled by a thermostat (23) to about 40 deg C. The refill flows through a heating coil (11) and may be pumped (21) through a plate heat-exchanger (19) with connections (18) to solar or other heat sources.
