<p>PURPOSE:To inform a received content properly to a recipient by recognizing header information in received data and providing the result of recognition as voice information. CONSTITUTION:A signal including header information from an opposite party is given to a V29 demodulator 20, a V21 demodulator 18 via an NCU 2, a hybrid circuit 5 through a telephone line 2a and a signal line 6a. The signal received by the demodulator 20 is demodulated and coded by a decoding/coding circuit 22. A character recognition circuit 30 receiving the coded data recognizes character information and converts it into code information and provides an output of it to a voice generating circuit 32. When a destination telephone number stored in advance in a destination telephone number registration circuit 48 is in existence in the header information, the voice generating circuit 32 converts the received code information into corresponding voice information under the control of a control circuit 58 and provides an output of it to a speaker circuit 34. The speaker circuit 34 provides an output of it audibly. Thus, the content of the received information is informed properly in voice.</p> |
