PURPOSE:To provide a small-sized and highly accurate gas sensor without damage of base material and excellent in electric connection reliability between a contact point and metal fitting. CONSTITUTION:This gas sensor is provided with a detecting part 8 equipped in a base material 3 and detecting gas concentration, electrodes 291, 292 equipped in the detecting part 8, a cylindrical contact point 21 integratedly embedded in an end of the base material 3, and electrode leads 26 equipped between the cylindrical contact point 21 and electrodes 291, 292. Contact point metal fittings 11 for outside lead wires 10 are fitted into and contacted with the cylindrical contact point 21 and the contact point 21 is electrically conductive to the contact point metal fittings 11. It is desirable that the contact point 21 is provided with an engaging inlet having a diameter smaller than an inner diameter at an opening thereof, while the metal fitting 11 is provided with an elastic contact part which is smaller than the diameter of the engaging inlet when it is inserted into the contact point 21 and expands larger than the engaging inlet after insertion to be contacted with an inner wall of the contact point 21. |
