Biological noise barrier incorporating soil decontamination system

Biological noise barrier comprises: (a) an at least temporary sealing layer on a subsoil, opt. above the ground water; (b) a covering heap of soil consisting of alternating horizontal layers of contaminated soil and drainage layers, the slope being 35-60 deg on at least one side; and (c) plants planted on the top and sloping surfaces of the wall providing a noise barrier and reducing contamination. Also claimed is a method for producing and operating the barrier.
