The insect guard comprises a narrow-mesh grid (3) with holders (4) around part of the circumference. The mesh grid is at least part of the size of the window opening so that when the window is slid up, the grid is pressed firmly against the window opening socket where it is secured.The grid can be made from woven metal or plastics and is held by profiled strips along the lower edge. The strips and grid can be made in one piece.
