摘要 PURPOSE: To save the equipment and cost of a light-reflecting star type device by utilizing such an advantage that nothing except other than a Farady rotor is required to be installed to a reflecting point by constituting at least one reflector as an orthogonal polarization reflector. CONSTITUTION: A light-reflecting star type device is composed of three 3×3 transmitting start type devices and is provided with nine input-output ports 1-9 composed of the right-side ports of the transmission star type devices. One cross polarization reflector ORP is connected to one left-side port of each 3×3 star type device. The remaining left-side ports of each 3×3 reflector are connected to the left-side ports of the other 3×3 reflectors. The polarized light, returning from the ports after reflection, is orthogonal to the direction of polarization of outgoing signals. This orthogonalilty is maintained by all glass fibers in a coupling device, and is doubtlessly there is no loss occurring in the polarization dependence. Thus reflected signals are polarized in the direction in which the sensitivity to a laser sent to a receiver becomes minimum and are sent to the laser.
