PURPOSE:To arbitrarily select the sectional shape of a spread width part and favourably secure the water seal performance in the width spreading excavation. CONSTITUTION:A shield body transfer part 3 is installed in a slide contact form along the inner peripheral surface of a shield body fixation part 2 arranged in parallel oppositely. The top end of a piston rod as the other end of a shiftable jack 5 whose one end is fixed at the shield body fixation part 2 through a reaction force member 7 is connected with the shield body transfer part 3, and the shield body shiftable part 3 is shifted in the vertical direction through the extension and contraction of the piston rod, and the rectangular shape on the sectional surface is changed.
