The volume (1) to be air conditioned is closed by a ceiling (5), which may carry an insulating blanket (6) on its underside. A false ceiling under this forms a permeable membrane (13), enclosing a permeable filter medium (11), which prevents the membrane from rapid clogging and ensures treated air quality.The filter is stretched over the complete surface of the ceiling, over the membrane, forming a channel (7), or plenum, for blown air. This covers the full volume surface, under the insulation. A thin plate (4) in this air channel may enable air passage to or from an aperture in the vertical wall (10) top, surrounding the volume. A return air entry (14) at the wall top may allow ventilation by convection (19).
