<p>A process for the environment-friendly recycling of appliances, for example refrigerators, having fluorocarbon-containing (FC) foam parts, in particular polyurethane foam parts (PU), and a plant for carrying out the process are described. After delivery, appliances are freed from oil and cooling medium. Various elements and parts are removed. Thereafter, the appliances are broken up, first coarsely and then finely. Magnetic metal parts are then separated off, followed by nonmagnetic metal parts. The remaining plastic parts, mainly foam parts, are then, for example, pressed so that the fluorocarbon is forced out of the pores of the foam parts. To ensure the best possible protection of the environment, an air purification plant is provided which extracts the released fluorocarbon gases and renders them recoverable.</p> |
