PURPOSE:To fix a stylet into a catheter, etc., by expanding a balloon and to surely advance the catheter, etc., via the stylet from outside so that the catheter, etc., are smoothly pushed into the body by installing the balloon to the front end of a stylet body. CONSTITUTION:The stylet 1 with the balloon is constituted by installing the balloon 5 to the front end of the stylet body. At this time, the balloon 5 is disposed at the front end of a tube 4. A connecting port 2 and valve 3 for fluid to expand the balloon 5 are disposed at the base end of this tube 4. To use this stylet, an operator inserts the stylet 1 into, for example, a transintestinal nutrition catheter and expands the balloon 5 in the state of aligning the respective front ends. The outside surface of the balloon 5 is then brought into pressurized contact with the inside surface of the catheter to fix both to each other, by which the propulsion force is acted on the catheter via the stylet 1 from outside. Then, the catheter is smoothly pushed into the body of the patient. |
