<p>PURPOSE:To provide a method for stabilizing an electric resistance controlling belt used for the transferring belt of a copying machine, etc. CONSTITUTION:The electric resistance controlling belt which has a conductive part having intermediate resistivity (10<5>-0<10>OMEGAcm) is laid between plural rollers so as to apply tension for the time equal to or more than 10 hours, and so as to rotate the rollers for 20 minutes or more while the tension is applied. Figure (a) expresses that the belt is made of EPDM rubber coated with urethane resin, and figure (b) expresses that the belt is made of butadiene rubber coated with urethane resin. Ordinates express a surface resistance value (OMEGA) and abscissas express hour(hr). When the belt is left after being manufactured and it is in an initial condition where the tension is not applied, the resistance value being 4X10<8>OMEGA is lowered to 5X10<7>OMEGA after 10 hours from a time when the tension is applied, and thereafter is kept in a constant resistance value in the case of the figure (a), and the resistance value being 7X10<8>OMEGA is lowered to 8X10<7>OMEGA, and thereafter is kept in a constant resistance value in the case of the figure (b).</p> |
