The first (W) of two pieces of appts. (W,G) can be a consumption meter, esp. a thermal meter, with an opto-coupler (2) and an output circuit (4) with two connections (8,9) for connection to the second appts. of higher order in the system or the system itself. An input stage (1) connected before the opto-coupler shortens the duration of the pules provided by the first appts. and transferred by the opto-coupler. A circuit stage (3) connected after the opto-coupler extends the duration of the pulses transferred by the opto-coupler. This stage only passes pulses of at least a minimum duration from the opto-coupler's output to the output circuit.
