PURPOSE:To obtain a good recording image corresponding to the change of the line width of a character by selecting a standard font data group and one of two or more kinds of font data groups on the basis of a font selection signal. CONSTITUTION:When character data is transmitted as image data from a host device 1 and a laser printer 2 receives the character data from the host device 1, the character code corresponding to font data is extracted from the character data in the control part of the laser printer 2. The corresponding font is searched from the font data according to the program in an ROM 8 and a character is developed on a frame memory corresponding to the color data and position data of the character contained in the character data. |
