PURPOSE:To reduce the generation of transmission noise offensive to the ears of occupants at an engine room by a method wherein the foaming agent-impregnated resin particles of a non-foamed substance in a bag-form object is foamed in a baking furnace and a hollow cylindrical body, such as the pillar part of an automobile, is filled therewith. CONSTITUTION:In a sound insulation processing method for a hollow cylindrical body, such as the pillar part 1 of an automobile, after electrodeposition paint is applied and baked at a painting process, a stretchable bag-form object 3 filled with foaming agent-impregnated resin particles 4 in a non-foaming state is inserted through the hole of the pillar part 1 of the automobile. Thereafter, by foaming the foaming agent- impregnated resin particles 4 of a non-foaming substance in the bag-form object 3 by a baking furnace, the hollow cylindrical body, such as the pillar part 1 of the automobile, is filled therewith. The foaming agent-impregnated resin particles 4 in a non-foaming state dispersed in a pressure sensitive adhesive or an adhesive may be blended in the stretchable bag-form object 3. Further, the stretchable bag-form object 3 having adhesion to a metal may be also used. Moreover, insertion through the small hole of the pillar part is easy to make and the slip-off of a material and displacement are prevented from occurring. |
