PURPOSE:To enhance the characteristics of a secondary battery and improve the safety and charging/discharging characteristics by performing an atmospheric corona discharge processing, and using a separator which is a polyolefin film with the surface activated chemically. CONSTITUTION:A secondary battery is composed of a positive electrode plate 1, positive electrode black mix 2, semisolid electrolyte 3, separator 4, negative electrode plate 5, negative electrode black mix 6, exterior member 7, and a seal 8. As a separator a polyolefin film is used whose surface is modified by an atmospheric corona discharge processing to form a good adhesive interface and which excels in the mechanical properties and adhering ability. The semisolid electrolyte 3 is formed in thin film and provided on the separator 4. The resultant battery has good safety, charging/discharging cyclic properties, and mechanical strength.
