Apparatus for determining the volumetric amount of dispensed gas at a particular connection of a gas grid, the gas in the gas grid being under a specific high pressure. The pressure of the gas to be dispensed is reduced to slight excess pressure above normal pressure. The apparatus comprises a device for reducing the pressure of the supplied gas to the pressure of the gas to be dispensed, and a volumetric gas meter for determining the volume of gas which has flowed through. Placed in series with the volumetric gas meter is a sonic nozzle. The reducing device controls the pressure as a function of the pressure measured downstream of the sonic nozzle. A capacity limiter defines the maximum permissible pressure in the meter with the aid of the reducing device. A volume-deriving instrument is used to determine the flow rate under standard conditions from the data of the meter and the measured reference pressure. |
