<p>The strut comprises a lower tube (12) at the end of which slides an upper external tube (10). The upper tube has an internal body (30) which slides along a central rod (20) extending from the lower tube. A spring (40) acts between the end of the lower tube and the internal body. The lower tube has a length between 0.5 and 1.2 m and the upper sliding tube a length of about 1.2 m. These tubes have an external diameter between 20 and 50 mm for a thickness between 1 and 4 mm. Temporary locking of the internal body to the rod, with the spring compressed, is by means of a tumbler (60) which passes radially through the internal body.</p> |
