<p>PURPOSE:To provide a blank for wind instruments which has a high hardness, is hardly softened even in the heat treatment at the time of working and is capable maintaining a high grade by specifying the contents of one or two kinds of Ca and Si to be a specific ratio in total and consisting the balance with Pt. CONSTITUTION:The hardness of the blank for the wind instruments is improve if one or two kinds the Ca and Si are added to 0.01 to 1wt.% in total to Pt. In such a case, the effect thereof is not expected if the content is below 0.01wt.%. The grade of the Pt is reduced to <99wt.% if the content of Ca and Si exceeds 1wt.% and the effect is lowered. Namely, the hardness is improved and, therefore, deformation and permanent set in fatigue are hardly generated during handling. In addition, the blank is hardly softened in the heat treatment at the time of working and the high grade of Pt is maintained. The molten meal flow at the time of casting is improved by the deoxidation effect of the Ca and Si and material defects, such as pinholes, are eliminated.</p> |
