PURPOSE:To provide a reversible thermal recording material chemically generating the development and erasure of a color only by the control of heat energy, low in toxity, imparting high printing density and capable of erasing a color without causing the thermal deformation of a support. CONSTITUTION:In a reversible thermal recording material wherein a recording layer based on a leuco dye, a color forming/erasing agent and a binder is provided on a support, the color forming/erasing agent is a complex salt of an org. acid having at least either one of a phenolic hydroxyl group and a carboxyl group and an amine compd. and this complex salt is obtained by mixing an org. solvent soln. prepared by adding alkenyl succinate or a derivative thereof to an org. solvent soln. of an org. acid with an org. solvent soln. of an amine compd. to obtain a precipitate and filtering off the precipitate to dry the same. |
