Device for cleaning contoured objects with granules

Granules (5) pretreated to have suitable shapes and sizes are releasably held on a belt, sheet or film carrier (1) having a flat or contoured surface. The granules can be of ore, metal or alloy and are pref. of high grade steel or alloy with 5 to 95 % copper. Granules of differing composition and hardness can be used together. When the carrier is laid on the surface to be cleaned or kept clean, release of ions through efflorescence promotes contact with dirt, algae and moss. The susceptibility to efflorescence can be increased by radiation or heat treatment.
