The insecticide composition for killing cockroaches is composed of 60.2-80.2 wt.% of sweet potato, 0.5-15 wt.% of a insecticidal component, 1-10 wt.% of sugar, 2-6 wt.% of an antiseptic, 5-13 wt.% of distilled water, 0.1-2 wt.% of a perfume and 3-5 wt.% of a perfume reserving agent i.e. myristic acid isopropyl. The insecticidal component is pref. hydramethylnon, chloro-piriphos, boric acid, propoxur, bendiocarb, fenvalerate or pyrethrins. The composition has a good attracting, dietary and prolonging property.
