The apparatus includes a circuit (14) for modulating the transmission signal (Ie,Qe) during the transmission phase to generate a modulated transmission signal (SMT). There is also a device for single frequency transposition cooperating with a switch (41) which provides a transposed signal (i,q). A second transposition device receives during the reception phase the modulated signal. The modulated received signal (SR) produces the transposed received signal (Ir,Qr) during the reception phases. The transposed transmission signal may be used for controlling the gain. Additional transposition devices are controlled by timing signals.
