Vehicle exhaust with absorber and catalytic converter

A vehicle exhaust gas cleaning device has an absorber which operates until the desorption temperature is reached, with a catalytic converter downstream. A burner (4) delivers hot burner gas to accelerate the warming of the catalytic converter to its operating temperature. The burner is located with its burner pipe (5) at the converter inlet side, such that a direct heat exchange with the absorber (2) is avoided. A device is provided to warm the absorber when the surrounding temperature is low, using the burner gases.
