PROCESS FOR STORING MIXED RUBBISH

The invention relates to a process for storing mixed rubbish in buffer or supply stores, e.g. rubbish bunkers or suitable containers, before its removal and subsequent thermal processing or other further processing. The process is designed virtually to prevent the possibility of fires and gas explosions, suppress aerobic decomposition processes and retard anaerobic decomposition, prevent the further formation of dioxins and furanes during subsequent thermal processing as far as possible and stop the infestation of the stored contents by vermin. The prevention or at least reduction of undesired occurences in the bunker region is designed to improve safety in waste disposal significantly. The waste is stored in a substantially fireproof inert atmosphere.
