<p>PURPOSE:To provide an applicator which can apply a surface protection layer of a card stably and normally even when the card is warped or twisted in such a way that troubles in the application on the surface of the card which are caused by the generation of a jam or deviation when an application part is transferred and cause the damage to the card or the stain of a transfer passage by a liquid to be applied are eliminated. CONSTITUTION:In an applicator for applying an application liquid on the surface of a card in which the card 11 as a material to be coated which was transferred on a conveyer 20 is contacted with a application head 110 which has an application member comprising a porous body and a fibrous material or a fibrous fabric, a press roller 170 is installed for pressing the card on the upstream side of a transfer passage, and the application is conducted while the card being nipped on the transfer belt 25 by the press roller immediately in front of an application part or while the card being fed by a nip belt, a gate roller, or robot hand.</p> |
