<p>Clusters of water-swellable polymer fines, having high rates of absorbency without gel-blocking are prepared by suspending water-swellable polymer particles in an inert hydrophobic liquid, such as hydrocarbon, and slowly adding to the particles an aqueous solution, which can be water or an aqueous solution or mixture of water-soluble monomer and silica or a similar compound to silica.</p> |
