PURPOSE:To provide a one-component developing type developing device in which the rotation of a developer carrier is made smooth, the developer carrier is brought into contact with an electrostatic latent image carrier at low pressure and the formation of a developer thin layer and the development of an electrostatic latent image are stabilized. CONSTITUTION:The developer carrier consisting of a cylindrical member 3 having a recessed part 1 uniform in its longitudinal direction and a metallic thin film cylindrical member 2 to which the member 3 is inscribed is used, the recessed part 1 of the member 3 is allowed to conicide with a contact position between the electrostatic latent image carrier 8 and the member 2, driving means for driving only the member 2 are arranged on both the ends of the member 3 to rotate the member 2. |
