<p>PURPOSE:To provide the optical symbol reader for reducing a conveying interval. CONSTITUTION:Laser beams 5 and 6 outputted from two semiconductor laser oscillators 1 and 2 having respectively different optical axial directions are deflected by rotating a polygon 9 and these deflected laser beams are reflected from a pattern forming mirror so as to form a composite scanning pattern. A decoding part 15 reads a signal for which the composite scanning pattern scans a bar code symbol 16, optic/electric converts the reflected and scattered light and amplifies it. A detecting part 20 detects the laser beam sweeping positions of the laser beams 5 and 6 emitted from the plural semiconductor laser oscillators 1 and 2 based on the detected result, a switching control part 21 controls the ON-OFF of the semiconductor oscillators 1 and 2.</p> |
