PURPOSE: To produce a novel granular adsorbent using an inorganic oxide as a base and capable of indicating water adsorption degree, and to provide its use. CONSTITUTION: This adsorbent is obtained by impregnating a solution containing an indicator dye selected from a group of phenolphthalein, cresol and thimol blue and displays the water adsorption degree by reversible change of color. The adsorbent is used for neutralizing and drying a neutral gas.
